Short for Virus is a vital information resource under siege. Virus is not a worm, in computer jargon, virus is an unwanted or unauthorized program that can gain access to computer resources and can cause different abnormal behavior in the system. Viruses are nothing more than software or programs developed by humanity. It can cause major problems in the computer system. It can also corrupt application software, hardware, and other software. eg Trojan Horse, Acid, Acme, etc.

Antiviruses are software or programs that are designed and developed in such a way that they can detect and remove viruses, as well as protect the system against unwanted and unauthorized access.

History

1949: The father of computer science, John von Neumann, had postulated that computer programs could regenerate themselves.

1972: ‘Veith Risak’ had written an assembly language virus for the SIEMENS computer system.

1980: ‘Jurgen Kraus had postulated that computer viruses are similar to biological viruses.

1984: ‘Fren Cohen’ publishes the first article entitled “Computer Viruses: Theory and Experiments”.

When any virus attacks a system, the system gets infected. A virus reproduces in the system. A single virus multiplies it a thousand times and more in the system. The general behavior of the system after a system is under attack is to shutdown and reboot the system, an unusual sound appears.

This phase is for antivirus software. If a system is infected with viruses, the antivirus enters the scene. The antivirus can detect all infected files or programs. You have the ability to fix the problem, quarantine it, or delete it. Examples of antivirus software: Norton, McAfee, Avast, etc.

Automated system tool eg Windows Firewalls prevent unauthorized access to some extent. In that case, Windows Firewall generates warnings. To increase and emphasize the protection of the system, the end user needs to install antivirus software.

virus removal

There is an installation called System Restore available on Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7. The virus can disable System Restore, System Task Manager, Command Prompt.

The virus can be removed by rebooting the system, entering Windows in safe mode, etc.

If a virus has attacked the system, the virus could be removed by formatting the entire hard drive and reinstalling the operating system. A particular infected drive might also be formatted to remove viruses from that drive.
