Happy birthday, President Obama

His efforts and difficulties in his campaign for the Democratic Party presidential primaries in 2007 and 2008 are now a thing of the past, as he was elected 44th President of the United States of America. And on Tuesday, the dear president will celebrate his 48th birthday.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs shared with the public how the president kicked off his birthday through a trip to Maryland with his family and closest friends. With his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, the first family is also joined by the mother of the First Lady. Among the guests are Marty Nesbitt, his old friend and also Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Housing Authority. The guest list also includes Dr. Eric Whitaker and several other childhood friends in Hawaii.

On this trip to Maryland at Camp David, the president played basketball and bowling. Gibbs also reported on Obama’s remarkable improvement in bowling. According to him, the president threw a 144 over the weekend, a clear indication of the president’s best bowling skills compared to the 37 most gutter balls during his presidential campaign in 2008.

And on his birthday, come on Tuesday, the president will have lunch at the White House with the Democratic senators. The meeting’s agenda is likely to be on health, economics, energy law and the Cash for Clunkers program, according to Gibbs. However, Gibbs did not reveal what the president will do for the rest of the day.

Now ranked highest in the nation, President Obama’s birthday is sure to be much more of a celebration compared to his previous birthday parties. It can be remembered that he celebrated his birthday last year at a fundraiser in Boston. Being a fan of the White Sox, he received a Hawaiian jersey inspired by the Boston Red Sox. During that fundraiser, 850 people celebrated with him, but on Tuesday, the entire nation will be celebrating with him.

Birthdays won’t be complete without cakes and candles. Last year, then-presidential candidate Obama handed slices of cake to his roving media reporter. As of Tuesday, it has not yet been determined how his birthday would actually spend. Whether you deliver cakes again or not, the United States can participate in your celebration through one simple act. Bake a cake and light soy or beeswax candles or whatever candle you prefer and toast the president.
