World Cup 2010 – Preview Semifinal

What a great World Cup it has been.

Although it pains me to say it, Germany have been the best team so far. In particular, Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich has something old-fashioned about his way of running and moving and for some reason he reminds me of Jell-O, as the movements are just unpredictable.

Like all good teams, they seem to have the recipe for success. A lucky goalkeeper, High organized back four, Good holding player, A lefty pocket rocket, Dribbling Wizards and a Goal Chaser.

You can decide which player fits into which brackets.

So what about the others? The second in the line of shots would have to be Spain, but not in form this time. David Villa has been exceptional and so much so that if he had been injured for this tournament, Spain would already be back home. The rest of the team has been jaded and out of ideas, unlike Spain, which has emerged as a new power in the last two years.

If Torres gets going, he could win the tournament.

Then comes the Netherlands. They have been effective up to this point with Sneijder and Robben as the main dangerous men. Defense is always a concern against fast forwards, however they haven’t conceded many.

And finally, Uruguay or should I say Diego Forlán. Of course, there is only hope in the semi-finals against the Netherlands. Fit and scoring goals, he will be one to watch in the Dutch back line. The rest of the team is willing to run and move, however, the new hand of God, Luiz Suárez, will be missing and this could upset the balance that has taken them to the Semi-Finals.
