If you are like me, you saw some of those amazing internet marketing deals in awe and hope that maybe you too can earn $27,541.36 a month with just a few minutes a day and an “easy button”. I tried 12 of those programs and stayed with two. I got my money back for the other 10. Why? Because they promised a big house, car, boat, goats tending the lawn, and an endowed professorship in college. Of course, most people are not millionaires, especially in the early years.

Now, if you are looking for an article that will give you quick tips to make big profits, you need to stop reading now. But if you want some realistic and practical tools, read on. Below I will list the key elements of Internet marketing and provide you with some useful tools.

They don’t have a plan. They don’t work out a plan. They don’t have very good content and execution.

This is what I recommend, based on my study and experience. Successful people often develop the following, often as part of a business plan or list:

  • Do your research and choose a niche (based on what you know and like).
  • Choose keywords that maximize interest and minimize competition.

  • Develop content that is compelling and of interest to others.
  • Create plugins, subscription forms and affiliate links on the website.
  • Develop on-site autoresponder and automated emails for those who sign up via subscription.
  • Have free resources for those who register as subscribers and fill out the subscription form.
  • Test your site.
  • Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies.
  • Drive traffic to your website (articles, forums, blogs, auto traffic).
  • Send automated messages and affiliate link referrals to your developing list.
  • Statistics tracking (site visits, clicks, conversions, earnings).
  • Analyze statistics and make improvements.

These are the basics of internet marketing. You can accomplish a lot if you implement that list above. There are so many “pieces” at work that it helps to break things down into simple elements, like this list of basic elements.
