In my experience, our woodshed has outlasted aluminum and plastic sheds. Our current woodshed is about 30 years old and still works. The aluminum and plastic models we have are worn by rust or crumbling with cracks. The useful life of these sheds was from 2 to 7 years.

The wood will last for decades. We have learned this firsthand and will confirm this truth.

Select flat, straight lumber to build your shed. Research each sheet of wood before you buy it. Avoid wood knots that can cause defects in your workmanship.

Wood is easy to cut and join. Use hand saws or electric or battery-powered saws for more precise and precise cuts. Ask the lumber department or store owner to cut the lumber to your measurements. This will save you time and labor, and the cost of power or fuel. We can join the boards with stainless steel nails or screws.

Wood is an excellent source of comfort. Helps to insulate and heat the interior of the building. The value of insulation increases as we add more wood to the shed construction. Wood requires less energy to heat up or cool down.
