Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 Review

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 (also known as PES10) is the umpteenth installment in the popular soccer game series, created by the gaming genius known only as ‘Seabass’.

Without a doubt, Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 is the most balanced game in the entire series. Too often in the past, players had to rely on dribbling the ball between defenders and playing 1-2 to score goals. Very few goals were scored by crossing the ball and having a player head it. Unfortunately, this is not the way football is in real life, and in the real world goals are scored from all sorts of angles and in different ways.

But has this had a good effect? Has Konami sacrificed fun for realism? Many people I’ve talked to confessed their undying love for the game one day, and swore bitter hatred against it the next. The key complaint is that the game is too random and unpredictable. This may be due to the fact that there have been some major (much needed) changes to the game, and people will need time to adjust to them, or it may be that the game is simply not as good as its predecessors. .

The second major change made to the game was adding 360-degree player movement. In the past, players could only move in 8 different directions around the field, and this has certainly made the game feel more fluid and realistic. Obviously it will be a while before we can judge the game properly, but first impressions are good, despite some flaws.
