Aging is something that each and every one of us has to go through. It is the result of the slowing down of the production and regeneration of the cells of the body through the passage of time. Our body has an internal clock and it acts as a guide with the way our body reacts to certain stimuli at a certain age. Aging manifests itself in different ways, but the obvious ones are the ones that affect our appearance. It can range from our hair turning gray to lines and wrinkles appearing on our skin. External factors, such as exposure to sunlight and pollution, also contribute to the degree of wear and tear on the body. Greater exposure to these factors often leads to a more severe effect on the aging of the body.

In today’s modern world, everything seems possible now, from wireless communication and even reversing the effects of aging. Not all effects can be reversed, but those that do manifest physically can certainly be treated. The advancement of technology in recent decades has been so great that what once seemed impossible can now be just a click away. Along with recent developments in technology, beauty standards were certainly not far behind. They have changed over time, but one thing is for sure: vibrant, youthful-looking skin is a constant throughout the years. Advances in technology have also brought advances in medicine, so more and more procedures and medications are being developed as time goes on.

Now, I am a woman in my 30s and I am experiencing the effects of aging. You can say I’m not that old, but it’s not really what I see in the mirror every day. Fine lines and wrinkles have started to appear around my eyes and mouth, it may be because I don’t smile as much but it’s definitely because of the amount of stress I go through. Working nine to five at a big company is stressful and having to commute to work every day doesn’t help much either. All of those factors together make me look tired all the time, so I do my best to cover up and look more presentable by wearing makeup. The makeup works wonders in turning me from a zombie into a fierce and independent woman, which is why she’s my best friend.

No matter how much makeup I put on to start my day, it could cover the lines I see when I look in the mirror when I take it off at the end of the day. This is when I use creams and other beauty products to help me feel better about myself, but these creams don’t seem like enough to make me happy, so I searched the internet to find out what else I can do. It’s about when I read about microdermabrasion and how it could help rejuvenate my skin and help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I was sold from that moment. There were a few options when it came to microdermabrasion: go to a dermatologist, go to a spa that offers the service, or buy an at-home kit to use just at home. With how busy I am and how I always feel tired after a week of work, I decided to go for a home kit as I could use it on my own time and in my own space.

There were some products on the market and some of them were a bit pricey, but when I saw the BrightTouch – Sonic Facial Cleansing & Skin Care System selling for a fraction of the price of its competitor like the Clarisonic, I decided to buy it. It came with four different accessories that I saw that could really benefit me and that was the selling point for me. It might not only help get rid of my fine lines, but it might also help me pamper myself with a spa-like treatment in the comfort of my own home.

The four accessories are a soft sponge, a soft brush head, a pumice stone disc and a nail buffer. The first two attachments can be used in coordination with each other for the intended use of the device. I would use the soft brush head with my face wash to cleanse my face of a day’s worth of makeup and dirt. The brush head oscillates, or vibrates in layman’s terms, which doesn’t irritate skin as much as spinning a brush. The brush cleans dirt from deep within the pores to unclog them and reduce pore size. The brush also deeply exfoliates the skin to remove dead cells and make the skin look much younger and clearer. Exfoliation helps to lighten fine lines and wrinkles by highlighting a new layer of skin and promotes cell regeneration. Fast regeneration means healthier, brighter skin. I use the soft sponge attachment after cleansing my face with the soft brush head to help soothe and massage the face creams I use to moisturize my face. The massage helps the elasticity of the skin, which makes it a little smoother and firmer. Applying the moisturizer after exfoliation is also the best time to do it since the skin would absorb it much better when it is all clarified. Moisturized skin leads to youthful and healthy looking skin.

The other two accessories I use whenever I feel like pampering myself on the weekends in my little spa at home. It’s a nice little addition to such a useful device, definitely worth buying if you’re looking to stay young and healthy. I forgot to mention that it might also help with acne scars and acne blemishes, so it’s worth a try if you have those issues.
