Marlee Matlin will perform at the Super Bowl

Super Bowl XLI is sure to be an extravaganza of fun and spectacularity. The NFL announced that Academy Award-winning actress Marlee Matlin would perform the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Matlin will sing the anthem in American Sign Language during the pregame show at Super Bowl XLI in Miami on February 4, 2007.

Matlin will have a rare distinction and the opportunity of a lifetime when she sings the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Matlin will do the show with Billy Joel, who will perform “The Star Spangled Banner” at Super Bowl XLI. Matlin had previously performed the National Anthem in sign language alongside Grammy Award winner Garth Brooks during Super Bowl XXVII in Pasadena, California. This isn’t the first time Matlin and Billy Joel have worked together. In fact, Matlin had previously done a music video called “We Didn’t Start the Fire” with Billy Joel and has put in some wonderful performances alongside Joel as well.

Matlin is world famous for her acting. She is an Academy Award-winning American actress who is almost completely dead. She won the academy award for her brilliant performance in “Children of A Lesser God.” She also received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama for the same film. Apart from making movies, Matlin regularly appears in various TV shows and series. Some of her recent performances are in “Reasonable Doubts”, “The West Wing”, “Picket Fences” and “The Practice”.
