Just make sure the content is attractive to your target market. If they choose to sign up, you have now turned them from visitors to leads and can start a dialogue with them via email.

Combined with all of the above is the need to set up an autoresponder email sequence using pre-written emails that are sent at predetermined intervals, offering more value over time. Keep these emails based on text, short and chatty. These are the types of emails we are used to receiving from our friends and colleges to make them feel more familiar and less like a sales pitch. Typically it takes 7 touchpoints to build trust, so don’t jump in and ask for a sale right away. After, say, 10 emails of value, you could offer an urgent discount on a product or service. Only do this when you feel that you have received a lot of value from you and have earned your trust.

B – The number two is Effective copy writing. Writing effective copy is probably the most important of all internet marketing strategies. These copywriting techniques should be used for your website copy, video scripts, blog articles, emails, and direct mail marketing. Think of your potential customer or typical customer and write as if you are speaking only to that person. Treat it like presenting an idea over coffee, as this makes the reader or viewer feel more engaged.

Keep the copy chatty and jargon-free. The viewer is always thinking “what’s in it for me”, so just tell them. Instead of using the word “we”, we use the word “you” a lot. For example, are you looking for a software provider that you can trust? In this last example we raise the problem that the person has as the opening line. Then you can elaborate by identifying a pain point, for whatever reason has been difficult for you in the past.

This helps them to identify with you and to feel understood. Then you can offer the resolution, your product or service. Back up features with benefits. A great looking website is a feature. If that website turns viewers into leads and then customers and that makes you more money, that’s the bottom line.

VS – The number three is Website Videos. Did you know that YouTube gets billions of views daily and is the second most visited website in the world right now after Google.com? More than 80% of people will watch video from a website, compared to about 20% who read the same content on that page. Additional research shows that people are 64% more likely to shop online after watching a video. Those are staggering statistics that show YOUR potential customers LOVE video! So, give them what they want! By simply adding videos to each of your website pages, you could increase its effectiveness.

Internet marketing is not that complicated as long as you stay focused by following a sustainable strategy towards your end goal of converting website visitors into buyers.
