How to avoid receiving a DUI charge

Let’s be honest, drinking and driving is a terrible idea, no matter who you are. And the more you do it, the more likely you are to get caught and/or kill yourself or someone else. In fact, drinking and driving has gotten so serious that even celebrities can’t get away with it anymore (although they certainly try!).

So I’m sure you’d like to know how you can avoid being charged with a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) in the first place. My first and really only piece of advice is very obvious, but I think it bears repeating: Don’t drink and drive! It amazes me that after more than 25 years of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) campaigns so many people are still doing just that.

Not drinking and driving is the only 100% guaranteed way to avoid a potentially life-altering DUI charge. So how do you go about doing it? Well, there are several different options for you to choose from depending on your situation.

Your best bet is to always designate a driver who avoids all alcohol at night. This includes not only going out at night at a bar or club, but also going to parties at people’s houses, especially during the Christmas season. Basically, in any situation where you are consuming alcohol, you should try to have a designated driver present.

However, having a designated driver may not be as realistic depending on what you and your friends are like. If you and the people you drink with have a hard time being in an environment where alcohol is served and not participating in it, then do everyone a favor and leave your car at home.

Instead, try to use public transportation if it’s available in your area. Otherwise, you will have to hire the services of a taxi company. Another idea if you’re attending an event with a large number of people is to hire a van or bus, as this can be cheaper for larger groups than hiring a bunch of taxis.

No matter how you or the person driving you avoid getting behind the wheel after consuming alcohol as much as you do. There are so many costs associated with drinking and driving each year; don’t add them

What if I have already been charged with a DUI? Is there a way to avoid being detected again?

Other than not drinking and driving, no, there isn’t! There are many myths about how you can pass a breathalyzer test. Let me save you time and money. Do not bother. If you insist on drinking and driving, sooner or later you will get caught. I just hope that when you do, it’s not because you killed someone.

Also, when you are caught, I hope you know the number of a good DUI attorney or DUI attorney because you will need one. Remember that it is very simple to avoid a DUI charge. Do not drink and drive!
