Hearty Omelet Recipes That Will Make You A Breakfast Person

Omelettes are a staple at the breakfast table. It’s light but hearty and incredibly easy to make. The best part is that you can add your favorite ingredients (your choice of meat, vegetables, and even herbs and spices!) to make it your own. It’s considered breakfast food, but of course you can enjoy it any time of the day!

Caramelized Onion and Balsamic Omelette

What do you need:

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 white onion, cut into rings

  • 1/2 cup cubed hard cheese of your choice

  • olive oil for frying

  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Heat olive oil in a skillet, then cook the onions until soft. Add the olive oil to the skillet, and then season with salt. Mix the onions, remove from the heat and reserve. Beat the eggs in a bowl with a little salt and pepper. Fry in the same pan, add more olive oil if necessary. Just before the eggs are cooked, add cooked onions and cheese to the egg then fold into a crescent shape. Serve immediately.

Spicy Cashew Breakfast Omelette

What do you need:

For the omelette:

  • 8 eggs

  • 2 green chilies, chopped

  • 6 large French fries, grilled and coarsely chopped

  • 1 bell pepper, diced

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 1 cup mushrooms, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons chopped celery

  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander

  • 1 tablespoon of oil

  • salt and pepper to taste

For the spicy cashews:

  • 2/3 cup cashews

  • 2 teaspoons of oil

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano

To make the tortilla, beat the eggs in a bowl and add the chiles, cilantro, salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a skillet and cook the bell pepper, onion, celery and mushrooms over medium heat until the onions soften. Pour the vegetables into the container with the eggs. Fry the tortilla until lightly golden on the bottom. When done, transfer to a serving plate and cut into strips. To make the spicy cashews, heat the oil in a skillet over medium high heat, then sauté the cashews. Add paprika, cumin, coriander powder, and oregano to the pan and stir until the ingredients are well combined. Top the tortilla with spicy cashews.
