From the ashes Tim Rises

Let’s take a trip back to the time when Mike Shanahan was still running the Broncos. Would Tim Tebow be considered a draft pick or would Mike have a different game plan for the Broncos? Of course, it’s pointless to think this way because Josh McDaniels was at the helm to lead the Broncos to pick Tebow as their draft pick.

After all the Tebow mania, Tebow wasn’t the Broncos’ starting quarterback, for good reason. He was and still is a rookie in the NFL and it doesn’t matter if he was the star of NCAA football, he’s still not in the NFL. Tebow was only seen coming in to make a running play, which always drew high praise from the crowd at Invesco Field. No matter how much praise he received from the media or fans, Kyle Orton would still be the Broncos’ starting quarterback.

Then something peculiar happened, Josh McDaniels was fired from being the head coach of the Broncos. This is when Tim Tebow really starts playing quarterback and not just a one-time running back wonder.

Tebow’s performance against the Oakland Raiders as the starting quarterback was an overall success. Although the Broncos lost, it was better than the previous loss to the Raiders and Tebow was able to showcase his talent to the football community, while setting some records in the process. He was able to make the longest touchdown run in NFL history as his first start. He also became the third quarterback in NFL history to throw for a touchdown of 30 or more yards and rush for a touchdown of 40 or more yards in the same game.

What lies ahead for Tim Tebow and the Broncos franchise? Could Tebow’s start just be a way to put him on display, for another team to pick up, or are the Broncos taking him seriously? The deciding factor will be who will be the Broncos’ head coach and whether he sees Tebow as a publicity stunt or as a young player with a lot of potential.
