Define computer virus

A computer virus is a software program, script, or macro designed to infect, destroy, modify, or cause other problems with your computer or software programs. The user can protect himself by using an antivirus protection program. The antivirus protection program designed to detect, protect and clean any computer virus. This is the most basic way of defining a computer virus. There are tens of thousands of viruses and many more are created daily. The protection program needs to be constantly updated. The computer needs to update its operating system, email, and files to maintain a completely secure PC. Normal use of any computer still puts the system at risk of being compromised by hackers unless you provide an antivirus program for protection along with a personal firewall.

A computer virus has been described as a parasite that will intentionally enter your PC to destroy your system, files, and any programs you have on your system. The virus will attach itself to files or boot sectors to replicate itself, the user is unaware of the problem and spreads the virus to others.

The hacker usually creates a virus that won’t come into play until the first person receives it and passes it on to their network. Then the problem arises where the virus came from, what kind of virus and what are the damages. The final definition concludes that a virus creates damage to the computer system by infecting the PC, either inadvertently or deliberately. This explanation helps you understand the difference between a computer virus and a Trojan horse program. The virus replicates itself while the Trojan program does not.

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” That’s true with a computer virus because the damage can be so devastating that your hard drive crashes, leaving you with nothing. You would need a new system and all your files destroyed. At worst, all your personal information taken will leave you in trouble that affects your financial well-being.

Many different viruses affect your PC. There are few important parts of your PC that can be affected which destroys the system. The email account may be compromised and cause you to get a worm passing through your network. The virus or worm destroys your PC along with everyone you send emails too. The next type of virus is also known as macros, this virus will affect your files, boot sectors and email.

The fact is that macro viruses are the number one problem for Internet users. Viruses spread through shared documents and grow each time you create a new document. The document for those on your network increases the ability of macro viruses to travel on the web highway. The macro attacks so many users that they open the document and then when their system gets infected and they create a document that one is infected. The process goes on forever until someone discovers the problem and works to resolve it. Never think that ignoring a virus will do no harm. The virus is an infection, which grows to destroy all the PCs it comes in contact with.
