Crunch Time games for the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils!

In just a span of 24 hours, the Cross River Rivals New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers were involved in two postseason atmosphere type games.

The Rangers facing the Hot Montreal Canadians were very busy, but they were in the game for the most part thanks to their goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who stopped 32 of 34 shots. The Canadiens’ 35th shot of the game would be a goal into the empty net and a 3-1 victory over the blue shirts.

The teams were totally locked into one after two periods of play when Montreal peppered Lundqvist for the second out shooting the Rangers 18 to 5. Even so, the Rangers scored the only goal of the period.

Did you know that tonight the only way to beat the King would be with a fluke goal when Sergei Kostitsyn pushed a shot towards the Rangers goal and would redirect Rangers striker Artem Anisimov past the goal box for a 2-point lead. -1 for Canadians. .

The loss dashed the Rangers’ playoff hopes, as the Boston Bruins won their game against the Carolina Hurricanes and opened up a three-point lead on the Rangers with one game remaining for them as well for the final playoff spot.

As for the Devils, their situation is a bit different. They trailed the Pittsburgh Penguins for the top seed in the Atlantic Division by two points going into last night’s game.

The Devils owe the defending champions this season and this game would be no different as the Devils would win their sixth straight game and sweep the season series from the Penguins in a 5-2 victory and take over the Division One. Atlantic.

The two teams have 87 points but the Devils own the tiebreaker, they have one less game played and one more win than the Penguins.

A tale of two teams across the river, one sailing high while the other sinking low. However, there is still time for the Blue Shirts to stick their heads out of the water, but not much.
