Although they may require major changes in your habits, you will be glad you did.

Here is a first list of 10 things to avoid at all costs.

1. TV

It’s hard to believe, but television is one of the greatest joys ever invented. Not to mention the ability to kill social interaction, what you see on television is a huge source of stress. In addition to some great junk shown on countless channels, think of commercials. The basic premise of good advertising is that you need to create a need by instilling pain, fear, or other negative emotions. The next time you see commercials, pay attention to what kind of negative emotion they are making you feel and what kind of solution to this problem they have just created, they are proposing to you. You will see what I mean. Now if you have to, watch a sitcom that’s really funny. Turn off the television after that.

2. News

Read only the good news. Have you ever noticed how much bad TV and radio news bombard us every day? Studies tell us that more than 90% of the news we hear is bad news. You are already stressed. Why accumulate negative stressors? Some people argue that it is necessary to know what is happening in the world; we need to be informed. Awarded. But you might also know about things later, when the buzzing has already subsided. You don’t need any more stress in your life. And by the way, there are good sources of information that are not so negative. Do a search using the words happy or good news.

3. Arguments

Don’t even think about starting a discussion about who takes out the garbage, or who did or did not do something. Let it go. This is not the time to seek justice. It is even more important when you are in a fight / fight mood, which is obviously brought on by your own stress. To resist. When you are in this mood, the best thing to do is return to a quiet place until the mood clears.

4. Caffeine

This is not the time to stimulate the adrenal glands. Avoid coffee, chocolate (even soothing hot chocolate), soda (even decaf), or black tea. Substitute herbal teas. Chamomile tea is very good. Anything decaf and natural is good. Soft drinks are out of the question, especially those with sugar substitutes.

5. Rap or hard rock music

There is definitely a time and place for this type of music and when you are not feeling well or when you are stressed it is NOT one of them. Many provoke anger, despair and violence. Instead, listen to relaxing music. A good example is the kind of music that doesn’t bring your memory back. Memories can also be very stressful.

Of course, not all stress has a negative impact on life. For example, you are going on a long-awaited trip. It is exciting and you can hardly wait. Or you are about to get married. It is true that these are stressful situations, but not necessarily negative.

Some stressors, although negative, need to be dealt with in a positive way, as they are unavoidable. For example, if you must ride a bicycle in heavy traffic, think about the benefits of your activity: you are saving resources and exercising at the same time. Or maybe you need to queue at the post office to send a package abroad to someone you love, so put up with it; you will make someone happy.
