After grief and loss, how to start living your life again

I want to share the wisdom I gained as I experienced unwanted and unexpected personal pain, grief, and loss, in the hope that it empowers you on your unique grief journey to start living your life to the fullest again. The complaint is complex. It became notable that I called it out for what it was: grievance. As I understood the source of my grievance, I was also able to better identify the power of the unique grievance I was experiencing. I faced a multiplicity of obstacles. As I began to understand more clearly my grief journey to stop hurting and begin to heal, I became aware of the many detours and emotions I faced. I mention some of them:

1-Feeling hopeless 2-Feeling powerless and depressed 3-Feeling alone
4- Not knowing who to turn to for help 5- Dealing with a new condition and reality 6- Both physical and emotional pain 7- Confusion 8- Not being able to build a future in my mind 9- Wondering how to deal with a new reality and life 10-Feelings of anger, regret, anguish and disappointment 11-Blame 12-Losing faith 13-Feelings of well-being 14-Feelings of pity for oneself 15-Unanswered questions 16-Back to normal syndrome 17-Discover a way to go

I realized the need and benefit of the help of others. Early in my grievance journey, the new hope became a must-have companion.

“The longer we dwell on our misfortunes, the greater their power to harm us.”
~ Voltaire

I learned the steps I could take to understand and reconcile my complaint. I began to recognize my own choices, power, and responsibility to heal. As I explored healing options, sources and solutions appeared to overcome my grievance. I began to see more clearly what is already present in my life: personal gifts and blessings. I learned that I had more power and strength than I thought. I came to understand the need for competent professional advice and help. It became clear that overcoming grievance is a process and requires time and the need to act on the indications one feels. I realized the proactive actions I could take. I felt and saw possibilities in my new situation and began to embrace them.

“May today be a day to look at your life from different and broader perspectives, perhaps a perspective of appreciation for what you have and a perspective of awe at your own existence and the magnificence of the world we live in. You are never too old set another goal or dream a new dream.
~ CS Lewis

I gained strength to overcome my grievance and achieve a better state of mind. I gained the understanding that only I can cure my wrong, although others can help.

“Our lives are not defined by the challenges we face, but by how we respond to those challenges.”
~ Jonathan Lockwood Huie

I learned the ebb and flow of injury and loss. However, I started to reconnect with other people and society. I learned that I can start living my life again. You also can!
