2011 Chevy Sonic – Impressive Subcompact Car With Exceptional Handling

The new Chevy Sonic will be available in two model types when it launches later this year. And as with most vehicles that offer both a hatchback and sedan model, the latter will sell the most units, but Chevrolet expects the hatchback version to make a big impact in the subcompact market. The car will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, multiple airbags, power windows and locks, and keyless entry.

When the auto company finally finished the prototype version of the 2011 Sonic, it brought together a number of automotive journalists to not only get their input on the car’s styling, but basically wanted to know what it “feeled like.” while driving the car. The group that designed this vehicle wanted this car to be the best car on the market that could achieve 40 mpg and also to be the most fun to drive.

The Sonic’s predecessor, the Aveo, was a decent car, but it didn’t really stand out in the crowded subcompact market. But with this new vehicle, Chevy wanted to take this opportunity not only to become one of the top sub-c automakers, but also to change the perception that the company couldn’t make a sub-c that could equally compete with the Ford Fiesta. . And so far, it appears that they have succeeded in launching a vehicle that has great styling and plenty of advanced features.

The “Fully Equipped” version of the Sonic features 17-inch wheels and an optional turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Compared to its competitors, this model’s engine is better overall due to the 138 horsepower and also the amount of torque it has (148 lbs). Its closest competitors, the Honda Fit and Fiesta have 117bhp and 120bhp respectively. Overall, these numbers might not seem like much of a deal, but when you factor in the cars’ other specs, suddenly hp becomes one of the main factors. The motor installed in the basic version has the same amount of hp and the fully loaded version, but has a smaller amount of torque.

Now, while the Sonic is a bit more powerful than its competitors, it also has better handling. Testing shows it’s 2 seconds quicker overall than other cars in its class. And like most vehicles these days, the power steering on this vehicle is fully electric and the “balance” of the steering feels exactly as it should, not too light and not too heavy. If you’re one of those drivers who prefers the stick-shift version, you’ll be happy to know that the overall ride is almost as smooth as the automatic version.

So, with the launch of this new sub-c car, Chevrolet could be said to be the front-runner in this class of car. The 2011 Chevy Sonic has everything you want, from great safety features, great performance, and plenty of high-quality interior features. As for the Fit and Fiesta, these two cars are almost as good as the Sonic, but the main feature they lack is the high-output supercharged engine. And it’s that feature alone that makes the Sonic the best sub-c vehicle on the market this year, at least for now.
