Super delicious Dutch oven bonfire desserts to try

What do you need:

  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda
  • 2 tablespoons coarse or granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into chunks
  • Whipped cream to serve

Preheat 45 charcoal briquettes until shiny.

To make the batter, combine the vanilla cake mix and lemon-lime soda in a bowl. The dough should be thick. Place the fruits in a lightly greased cast iron camp dutch oven then for the dough on top. Add the butter and then sprinkle with sugar. Cover and place the Dutch oven over 15 hot briquettes. Wearing flip flops, place the rest of the briquettes on the lid. Turn the oven on after 10 minutes and then cook for 20 more.

The cobbler is ready when the fruit juices are bubbling and the cake is golden brown. Remove from heat and serve with a dollop of whipped cream. It is better to consume while it is still warm.

Delicious Dutch Baked S’mores Cake

What do you need:

  • 1 precooked angel food cake, cut into chunks
  • 2 packages diced graham crackers, broken into pieces
  • 1 large package jumbo marshmallows
  • 6 Hershey chocolate bars

Place the angel food cake pieces in the bottom of a greased Dutch oven. Top with square pieces of graham crackers, followed by the chocolate bars. Add the giant marshmallows to the mixture. Cover and place on a preheated grill over a campfire. Cook for 5-10 minutes (depending on the heat of the campfire) or until the marshmallows are toasted and golden brown.

Remove from heat and cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Best served hot.
